Othmar Schoeck: Complete Piano Works
RELEASED 1999
The Swiss composer Othmar Schoeck, primarily known as the creator of operas and songs, has left behind a rather small oeuvre for solo piano. This is rather surprising considering the fact that he earned his living not only as a conductor but also as a pianist. Schoeck's entire piano works are made accessible to a wider audience on this CD for the first time. It provides a small-scale insight into all creative phases, from his youth to old age. This is the first-ever complete recording of the composer's piano works.
